Minecraft: How to make your house kinda not bad

YAY! I can do minecraft again!

Today I will be showing you how to make a nice house in minecraft.

Firstly, look at this. You might live in this, maybe not. Either way, it's horrible and it probably smells like used gym socks.

Now, note the problems: The location, the front awning, the corners, the roof, and the balcony.

The location is easy to see. It is possible. but very hard, to pull off having higher ground near your build. Usually it gives the feeling of living in a ditch. Not nice. To fix this, you could build on flat ground, or, even better, on top of a hill. This gives an unobstructed view of the surrounding landscape.

The front awning is, firstly, uneven. Usually, any feature that is not symmetrical will look strange at best and horrid at worst.  Secondly, if you look carefully, the fences supporting it are attached to a separate pillar of wood. A better plan would be to have made the awning take up the entire front of the building. Also, the fence posts making up the pillars should have been free-standing.

The corners are a simple fix. Simply replace the corners with wooden logs (I personally like spruce the best).

The roof of a house should not be flat. Period. Instead, make it peaked by using fences. Also, it can be useful to add a small overhang of one block, two at most.

Lastly, there are two problems with the balcony. The fence on it, probably to keep people from falling off, does not occupy the entire balcony. This makes it look odd and out of place. Secondly, the material it is made from is odd, considering it's location. Brick should not be used for anything past the first floor unless it is a chimney.

Coming soon is my improved version of this.
